Well JD, the way it "should" be, is that you should have to remove the lower tang! The one that come apart without doing that are actually the wrong ones But I like mine that way and have not gotten around to filing a little off the tang, on the one that does not come apart without removing the hammer screw. It all depends on which way the tolerances stack up, loose or tight.

RD, I do like you do when I have a tight fitting lower tang. And remove some off of the sides and edges of the tang and receiver, until the tang goes in and out without any hassle.

After the second removal of the lower tang (off....on....off) I did a good bit of light filing, stoning and wet dry papering to be able to reinstall it by myself. It's still a somewhat tight and wobbly movement going in to full seating, but it mates up fine. Still not that smooth perfect motion in uninstall/re-install you see on most of the "how to dis-assemble" videos. Since doing the necessary fix to the ejector and a bit of other smoothing on the innards, I don't see a need to tear it down again, unless something breaks. Full routine cleaning can be done with the lumber off and a good blowing out with non-chlorinated brake cleaner, and re-lubing with CLP (or your choice of lubes).

That lower tang was the toughest thing I had to deal with as far as poor machining goes (other than the unfinished ejector)

Ok, I'm soaking it in PB blaster and pulling at it some tonight. I'll try and get a punch small enough to fit the lower tang screw so I can do it as Ranch Dog said. I appreciate all help from y'all. I've only ever field stripped a glock an 870 so I apologize for the newbie questions.
