Rio Grande parts schematic
Rio Grande parts schematic
Gentlemen/ladies,
Can anyone direct me, or share with me a parts schematic for a Rossi "Rio Grande" (SS) in .30/.30. She was made by Taurus in Brazil by Braztech out of Miami, FL. Serial # SS886
Barring that, she is strikingly similar to a Marlin 336. (of the same caliber) can anyone tell me the differences between these two models/manufacturers? Can I use Marlin parts in replacement of Rossi?
Have had one sitting in my closet for a number of years and when I went to cycle it she froze up on me. Would like to take her apart and take a look but don't want to wind up with a bunch of "Parts". Thank you all in advance and am looking forward to being an active member of this forum.

Re: Rio Grande parts schematic
Welcome aboard!
Numrich sells downloadable pdfs for $1.50. They don’t have one for the Rio Grande, but the RG is a 336 clone with cosmetic differences. It may not be exact, but it should keep you out of trouble.

Harry,
Thank you for the welcome. And thank you for you input. Yes, I noticed that the 336 and the RG are similar. that could also mean that parts interchangeability is possible. Thank you again.

Re: Rio Grande parts schematic
Good luck,
The 336 is probably your best bet on a schematic.
Here's a version that appears to be from Numrich from a few years ago.

I would hope their purchased version might be better but I don't know about that.

You might also check out Brownels. I've been able to get schematics for older guns there.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for all your replies. Archer, the diagram of the 336 was great thank you.
I have taken the RG down, cleaned, lubed and re-assembled her. No problems. Tomorrow to the range. Will keep you all abreast. Thank you again.

Re: Rio Grande parts schematic
At one time, you could get the manuals off of the Rossi website. I haven't been there a while and could no longer find any manuals. I have the PDF and attached it below. There is a schematic in the manual on page 20.

For now, I still have all three of mine; 30-30 AI, 38-55 Win, and 45-70 Govt.
