New Guy from Vegas
I just bought a M92 357/16inch blue, two days ago. I shot it yesterday and it was very impressed with the accuracy right out of the box. Dead-on at 50yrd with Magtech 357ammo.
I was also surprised to find a bruise on my shoulder this morning!
Little gun can kick!
Should be fun!

Welcome Jim! Yes, that little squared edge butt plate can pack a punch! I have two of the 20" round barrel carbines and they both are very accurate. I've killed a bunch of hogs with the scout scoped version of the rifle.

Welcome! Your 357 is the next gun on my bucket list. Going to be a while as I just got my first Rossi yesterday and have to let the checkbook cool down..
No such thing as bad weather in Alaska, just lousy clothing choices!

Re: New Guy from Vegas
I've had the gun now about 6 months and I really love it.
It shoots 158g 357 mag rounds (Independence brand) dead on at 50m, no sight adjustment. Out of the box accurate! (1 inch groups at 50m off of a bag, great accuracy for such a small rifle)
Shoots Win White box 38sp a little high and right, but it is completely repeatable, so I will leave it sighted in for 357mag.
I got 500rds of the 38SP for about 29cent a round. Pretty good price, cheaper than 17HMR and more fun to shoot. Almost zero recoil from the 38SP. The 158g 357mag surprised me and left a big old bruise on my shoulder! Decent kick, would be a prefect medium game round out to 100+yards.
A month ago I bought limited edition Win 94, 28in barrel 30-30. I lost half a dozen in biding wars on Gunbroker, each for over $1100. I found this on the local gun board (nevadashooters.com) for $600. Perfect condition. If it had the box, in would have gone for 2x or more. So comparing the two leverguns side by side, the Win94 is a 25y old gun, one of only 1200 made, very smooth action. It is nice enough to hang on a wall proudly. Functionally they very close, with the W94 being prettier, but not better.
But 30-30 ammo is around 80cent to $1.25, compared to 29 to 50cent a round for 357. Both work perfectly, both are keepers and the Rossi gets a lot more trigger time. Just great, fast handling, straight shooting little carbine.

I have an original Winchester 94 with fantastic metal & wood that was made the same year I was (1949) that is my levergun pride & joy.......obviously I'm not going to shoot it nearly as much as my other leverguns.
My Amadeo Rossi M92s (357Mag, 44Mag, 454Casull) are very slick and smooth as well & get a lot more rounds pumped through them than my 3 x vintage Winchester 94s (2 x pre 64s & 1 x 1973 built Indian Yellowhead Commemorative which is unfired) because the pistol calibers are so much cheaper to shoot.

Re: New Guy from Vegas
Welcome from SW GA. 357 Magnum is a good way to go right now. If you start handloading, you can shoot it quite a bit cheaper. Cowboy bullets are still available at a decent price in 357, 44 and 45 cal. This makes the R92 a great choice for someone who like to shoot a lot.
