loading both 44 mag and 44 spl

Anyone here been able to get both 44 mag and 44 spl to load smoothly through their 92?

Yup. I did a bit of smoothing of sharp edges, but not much as I recall.

Mine ran smoothly out of the box. CCI Blazer 44 Spl with Gold Dots.

mine has done well with both too.
I did have to modify the cartridge stop slightly to handle longer nose mag case bullets though.

my 357 isn't a fan of shorter 38's though,, the feed rails don't let the shorter rounds roll over quite quick enough so you end up double clutching the handle.

New here. Literally first post.

Just purchased a brand new 20" 92 this month and joined the forum. Just changed the ejector spring to a century C530 spring off amazon and cut the mag tune spring to 4.5" exposed at rest (took off about an inch and a half).

Ran 200 rounds of special and 100 rounds of magnum through it. All RNFP handloads ( 240 and 200 lead varying from 6.0 to 10gr of unique depending upon caliber. Zero issues feeding.

Also ran 20 factory Remington JSP 240gr magnums and 20 Horanday 225gr FTX with no issues.

Very happy with it.

My stainless R92 does not seem to care if I shoot 44 Specials or Magnums thru it.

In the 7-8 years I've had both .357 and .44 mag R92's, I've never even considered the shorter OAL "specials" in either. If I want "light loads", I just load em down. I bought the .44 mag NIB in 2013, so to make it legitimate I shot half a box of factory ammo through it .... before I "voided the warranty" shooting reloads so I could call it all mine. The .357 was bought "lightly used" in 2015 and never seen factory ammunition in my hands. I just don't want to deal with carbon rings and crud from the shorter "special" cartridges myself. So..... I guess I don't know if they will cycle in my guns or not.
