357 Magnum Top Gun List

Post by dpowers92 »

No expense spared. What would be your top 357 magnum firearms/ rifle, revolver and pistol.

- IMI Timberwolf 357 magnum ( is the holy grail of guns to me)
- Smith & Wesson Model 360 .357 Magnum Survival Kit
- Coonan Compact 357 magnum semi auto
- Mateba Unica 357 magnum
- S&W 327 2 Inch 8 Shot 357 Magnum Snub Nose
- Taylor &Co Alaskan 1892 Takedown 357 Magnum ( I would prefer this with a wood stock)

- Ruger 77/357 magnum
-SMITH & WESSON 386 PD 357 magnum
- Chiappa Rhino 357 magnum 40ds

I'm Sure theirs more.
So what are your top 357 magnum firearms?

I recently sold off all my 357's but if I had to choose it would be

Rossi 92,20" barrel Stainless lever action , ensuring it could feed 38 specials as well( all of mine did)

Taurus 608 8 shot revolver, dont know much about them, just googled it :) I only run specials( 38 and 44 sp) in revolvers as I dont like the magnum blast

I'm not the fan of .357 I used to be so I guess I would swap my self-modified 1978 Ruger New Blackhawk for a three screw version.

I've got a Taurus 605 that I keep around for bumps in the night.
Five shots chambered in 357 Magnum- or 38 Special bird shot.
It's a surprisingly high quality piece.

If money were no object, I'd go for brand new fancy Winchester Model 92's. I know they're Japchesters but they've got the name.

A Carbine: https://www.winchesterguns.com/products ... rbine.html
and a Deluxe Takedown Rifle: https://www.winchesterguns.com/products ... edown.html

However, that's just for the name 'Winchester' on them. I've had my 2 Rossis since 2009 and after Steve's smoothing video and few parts, I love both.

I've shot a timber wolf and certainly wouldn't pass one up.
still if I had to carry one around all day the little round barrel rossi carbine I bought just because of it's lightness would be hard to beat for weight.

it'd be pretty hard to beat my Dan Wesson with changeable barrels too.... on the range.
it's only drawback is it's a bit robust for simply carrying in a holster all day, so I'd have to defer to a 4-5/8th's Ruger Black hawk.

Keeping within the .357mag parameters!

I'll keep with my R92, SS 16" carbine, alongside of my Taurus 627, Tracker, 6.5" barrel, 7 shot.
That combination will handle anything I may come across out in the field!!

What is the difference between the 3 screw version and others?
And what is not to like about the 357mag?
