Plinkers, hunters, Cowboy shooters?

Post by kentuckydave »

What is your primary use for your 92(s)?

I confess to simply being a plinker with my .45 & .357/.38. Mostly at 25 yards, but shooting at the 100 yard gong/plate when the opportunity arises.

Mainly, I just love the feel of bringing the 92 up to my shoulder, working the lever, and popping a round down-range in what seems to be one of the most fluid & natural shouldering long arms I've ever owned.

How about you?

Not much really. My Blackhawk .357 was my first centerfire firearm and the R92 seemed like a good companion.

Been contemplating selling the pair for over a year.

GG, I'm in the same boat. Have a Blackhawk 357 and an extra 92 in 357 that just sit in my safe these days. Around here 45 Colt now rules the roost.

I shoot my 44 the most.
used to be the 45, then the 44 then the 45 then the 357 for quite a while, and now back to the 44 again.
it's the 44-40 that sits there looking lonely most of the time, probably because I have to do a couple extra steps on the cases when reloading for it.

Steel plate hunting. Love levers. 25 yards for right now. It will take some bulldozer work to lengthen my range. I've added a few more things since this picture.

Here are two of my 22's, my favorite 22's but have several more of all calibers. I have three Rossi R92's (two in 357/38 and one 454 Casull)

45 Colt here along with a Ruger revolver in 45 Colt. Mostly plinking & target practice at the range. Now that I have a Taylor's revolver in 44-40, I'm on the lookout for 92 in 44-40. Not having any luck in that regard yet.

.44-40s are available, but they are almost like "hens teeth". I bought one when Rossi first put them out, to go along with my revolvers in that calibre. I load them with the Holy bBlack, and modern powder.
