Rossi's New R95 Lever Action
While every new gun usually gets glowing reviews in the gun rags, the R95 appears to be an excellent rifle based loosely on the Marlin 336. I really like the fact they avoided white line spacers and went with a more traditional appearance. I particularly like the 16 1/2" Trapper version.

As I understand it, pricing on these should come in 200-300 bucks under the new Ruger built 336 and similar Henry rifles. With new and used lever action prices testing the limits of sanity, competition in the market is desperately needed.
One can only hope Rossi offers this R95 in 45-70, as they did with the Rio Grande. Another in 360 BuckHammer would be great too, for those of us who understand the Ragnarok Voodoo Death Magic a .358 rifle bullet unleashes on our furry friends
RD- if you need to move this thread- no problemo.

Because John Wayne, dag-nabit!
Your guess is as good as mine GG, I've never cared for them. I suspect it's aimed at the Guide Gun market.

For a hunter's gloved hand.
I hope it has better success than the Rio Grande. I like those rifles, but if Rossi cannot stick with a design for more than a few years, there is no value or parts.

I am not large but wear 11.5 shoes and can palm a basketball. My hands fit a normal lever with gloves but I have ZERO reason to wear gloves when I shoot a lever gun. I get it that others do but what the heck kind of mitts do some have?

Admiral Byrd took a Winchester 92 to the North Pole. Check out his mittens some time.

So the average Rossi customer is going to the North Pole?
By mitts I meant hands.

GG, the 20" barrelled rifle, is offered with the standard lever loop. I do like the less than full length magazine tube on the rifles.

I agree 100%. I should have grabbed one of their blue, 5 shot 44 mag snubs during the short time they were produced. Taurus has always been afflicted with that "let's make 500 of them" illness and I don't expect things will improve now that they've acquired Rossi.

Re: Rossi's New R95 Lever Action
I handled an R95 Trapper today. The finish was pretty darn good and working the lever was smooth enough for a new gun, certainly smoother than a 2014 Remlin I helped a buddy sight in.
