New Guy From Arizona

Hi all !
I'm glad to be a new member here. I've owned a couple Rossi R92s before, both in .45 Colt.
But what I really wanted was a lever in .38/.357, and today I finally got one.
I started shooting regularly when I was 14. That was 50 years ago. I spent 8 years in the Army, and then settled in Montana, just outside Yellowstone Park.

I've always liked leverguns being a lefty. I've had a few dozen from .25-20 to 45-90, but always wanted a stainless one. Just picked up an R92 in stainless with the 16 inch barrel.

Moved down to Arizona 3 years ago and find the .357 to suit my needs better than the big boomers I used up north.
Looking forward to some good discussions !

I'm about 15 minutes from you, Harry, in the Rimrock/Lake Montezuma area.

By golly, is that the range off Beaverhead Flat Rd.? We’re very close. I’m in the VOC. I hope your internet service is better than mine. I’m at the VOC library because mine is down, and they’re about to kick me out.

My wife is a Southpaw, so I’m always on the lookout for top and bottom ejecting firearms.

Yes, that's the Forest Service range off Beaverhead Flat Rd. Works out well for pistol, shotgun and short range rifle.
I go to a big open area off Cornville Rd. (across from the Apache Maid Ranch) for longer ranges.
Any of these local informal shooting areas are empty during the week, and somewhat crowded on the weekend, as you probably already know!

I'm refinishing the stock this weekend, looking forward to getting it back together and putting some rounds thru it.
I'm going to head to Prescott and Flagstaff next week to look for more powder, primers and bullets.

Pic of my R92 when I got it, it will look and feel much better when it's done.
I have to say that I'm glad these newer Rossi's aren't as much of a "project" gun as they used to be.
They sure could do better on the stock stain and finish (or lack thereof).
