Front sight replacement request

The brass insert disappeared from the front sight on my R92, so I sent Rossi a private message on their Facebook page. Someone actually called me about it and suggested that I return the rifle so a new sight could be installed. I refused the offer, knowing I wouldn't see it for at least 12 weeks. I'll get a sight from Skinner instead.

Go to a hobby shop or a craft shop.
Buy a brass rod the diameter you want your bead.
Make sure the end of the rod is flat and cut off a 'slice' about a 1/8" or as thin as maybe 1/16"
Epoxy the rod slice or disk to the existing front sight and then polish the backside that faces the operator.
Coat the brass with some lacquer, clear fingernail polish or renaissance wax to keep it from oxidizing.
Cost you a heck of a lot less than a new sight.
