Howdy all, finally made it over here from RD's Lee Loader site.
If it goes bang I like it. If I can load for it, I like it even better.
Born & raised in Arizona, the only one of 3 older sisters & 2 older
brothers born away from West Virginia &/or the high mountains of
far western Maryland. So, I decided to get me some country, & I did.
Moved to WVA & Western MD. Moved back to Arizona in 2008 just
before the melt down. We now live in Sun City AZ.
Started loading 50 + years ago.

Welcome to the site. You might be one that I need to talk too. I just recently joined the site myself, I live in Central Oregon, and new to reloading. Seems every time I head into town to buy some reloading stuff, I always return home with the wrong item. Yesterday was no exception. Went in to buy large pistol primers (CCI 300), came home with large pistol magnum primers (CCI 350).

No, I don't think anyone has a good answer for my poor short-term memory...

Since I only have Clays, Unique, Red-Dot, and Titegroup (none require magnum primers) for my recipe's for .45 Colt - 255gr Hard Cast boolits, or .44 Magnum/SPL 240gr Full Jacket; I still can't load anything...

Again, welcome.

I've been in the position of wanting to load and only having magnum primers and as long as my loads weren't close to max I've used them. I've also used Winchester primers that say they're usable for magnum and standard loads. Use with caution. The rule of thumb,if you will, when you change a component reduce by 10% and work up.

Stay well, be safe, make smoke,
