I went the 22/45 route with my Ruger 22. The original grips that came on it just didn't feel quite right to this old 1911 fan, but I was able to slightly modify a set of 1911 grips to fit, and it feels just fine now, and shoots like a champ.

The grips were made by a friend of mine who was getting into wood working and wanted to learn some more!

Mark lll standard model here, 4 3/4" tapered barrel blue finish. Can't seem to make it jam . Not nearly as difficult to strip/reassemble as some say. Old school looks but I like it and way more durable than the new Zamac wonder plinker look alike breed of guns in such vogue these last few years.

Awesome grips Fullthrottle. Your friend picked the right hobby.

+1...have a target model and it is a tack driver...great fun to use on speed steel competitions.

Only gun that I handle better is my Rossi 92 in 357 (24" octagon).

Of course I love all of mine but these 2 get the most trigger time.

I've added a couple of Ruger 22s to my stable. A Mark II thin barrel with adjustable sights added and a Mark III 22/45 with a Sparrow suppressor and sights. I can shoot a rat in the horse barn and it's so quiet that the horses don't spook.
Aim small, miss small.

You're spot on there ak, the tax stamp is just that, a tax. In most countries, suppressors are not registered and because of this, they sell for $100+.

I keep battleing with myself over getting one. I think I would rather buy another gun, then spend the time and money involved with it. I have a very tight toy budget So I go all over the place on what I want at times. lol my local leo will sign off so it is just the idea of 400 bucks for can 200 for stamp then whatever else I'm forgeting in between. lol someday maybe.
