45 Auto brass can be pretty sorry and not fail like some of the cartridges RD was seeing failures in.

True dat.

It is funny how the rifle, powder, powder charge, primer, reloading equipment, my expertise; everything except their brass was on their list as a possible factor leading to the failures. Even funnier is that the failures only had one thing in common; their brass.

A funny thing happens when you experience a case failure out of the blue, you tend to lose faith in a lot of things. I lost faith in the R92, or at least it is in the back of my mind as that is the next thing that is almost exclusive to the list. I was prepping the 454 Casull for a mule deer hunt in Dec '16. Haven't touched the rifle since, its in a corner collecting dust. Same with the 44 Mag and 45 Colt. I've got a lot of shots through these, but SL planted the "demon seed". I'm just glad it didn't happen on the hunt.

So if it isn't the brass, its got to be something else. R92?

Im sure it is the brass.
There was a light bulb company in the early 1900s, they made the best light bulbs, a fire station had one that had been providing light for 80 years.
Problem was, people didnt have to keep buying light bulbs cause the bulbs were so heavy duty and good quality.
So they went out of business.

this applies to the brass companies to some extent i believe.
If there brass lasted forever, they wouldnt be in business for very long.

Light cowboy loads and the brass may last a lifetime.
But for a serious hunter/shooter, not so much.

I picked up 50 .357 mag X-Treme brass at the range yesterday. I had never saw it before so I googled it.
Web shows none in stock. Anyway it was free so I will put it to use.
