'92s and Magnetospeed
I'm seriously looking at the Magnetospeed sport model and wonder if anyone has experiences they care to share using it with '92s.
I'm sure it will be fine with the single shots and bolt guns.
TIA

They may work well but I'd have to get a lot more serious before I dropped $400 on one. Then again I've had my Caldwell for two years without use.....or is that three? It might actually be four.

Re: '92s and Magnetospeed
The sport model is $176 at Cabelas locally. I'd get my Oelher (SP) fixed but most of the ranges I'm using right now make it difficult if not impossible to set up a traditional chrony.
If I take the plunge I'll let you know. I figured it will have to mount on the side of the barrel instead of the bottom.

That's much better than the MSRP of what I saw online.

You probably saw the V3 which does come in around 380. More features and for now more than I need. Still planning.

Re: '92s and Magnetospeed
May hold off on this for a bit. I discovered that Oehler sells what they call a 35P Printer Transplant kit. I should arrive in today's mail and based on the downloaded instruction shouldn't take more than an hour to perform. More later..
Edit: Printer was in the mailbox when I got home last night. Did the replacement this morning, took about half and hour. Save for fat stiff fingers it might have gone faster. Looks like the weather is going to keep me inside this week end. Hope it improves next week.

Re: '92s and Magnetospeed
Well, Santa, (wife) was good to me. I now have a sport model Magneto Speed chrony and I finally made it to my indoor range and gun shop to day to run at least some of the loads I worked up using the Mo Bullet Keith style semi wad cutters both conventional lubed and coated and I've got to say it worked great on the '92 45 Colt 20" octagonal barreled beast. Cinched to the side of the barrel it didn't miss a read. So while the winter winds blow and my out door ranges are shut down I can at least get MVs and 25 yard groups inside. More on the loads and results when I finish up. Happy camper here even if the long horns beat my dogs yesterday.
