2017 Taurus 85 snubbie
I'm a recent Taurus 85 owner, taking advantage of a great sale price as well as the $40 factory rebate. This is going to be an ongoing and occasional thread of my experience shooting, carrying, and loading .38 Special for this great little gun. Also, I encourage anyone and everyone who also is a fan to chime in whenever desired.
My second and third purchases related to this snubbie are a Blackhawk Speed Classic RH OWB leather holster in black, and an HKS 36-A speedloader for this little 5-shot cylinder. Both should be arriving via Amazon later today.
So, since I haven't taken any pics and threads are generally considered useless without them, or so I've heard - here is one from Guns America.

I am so glad you took advantage of the pricing and rebates on this compact firearm.

RD, the Amazon Prime boys dropped off the Blackhawk holster and the speedloader today - great! Once my haze of busy-ness of third graders clears Friday, I'll get some more info here. Getting a grip on these 8-9 year-olds is a challenge at times!

Looks like a dandy. Can be great fun as a woods walker piece. More than a few bunnies have started the journey to the cook pot via a snub .38.

Michael, sometimes I don't know how I do what I do either!
At 53, even with one of my own "kids" about to graduate from college and another just starting as a freshman (both of my kids are at two different University of Tennessee colleges) I still seem to be the de facto daddy of too many other kids!
I must be a glutton for punishment.

Re: 2017 Taurus 85 snubbie
The Taurus 85 had a trip to the WMA outdoor shooting range yesterday, along with it's buddies - my Ruger SS .357 and my Rossi 92 .357.
Oh and also - my wife came along too! That's the most important part, she's not done this before so it was a big deal for me. She really enjoyed shooting the Taurus snubbie - and my Rossi 92 - but the Ruger, not so much.
She has smaller hands, and so the Siles target grips on my Ruger .357 are not fitting her hands very well. She liked how it shot, but not comfortable with her grip. I'm going to get another pair of grips similar to the "grippy" Pachmayrs to swap if she wants to try again.
I'm happy with the little Taurus!
