Have been looking at ballistic tables for .45lc. The typical low BC and velocity of this caliber make the choice of zero interesting.

I think at 70 yards, the ups and downs are 2.3 inches high at 25 and 50 yards and 6.7 inches low at 100. I used a velocity of 900 fps and distance above barrel of .3 inches

Seem like easy ups and downs to remember. Any of those with more experience with this caliber see things differently?

What type of MOA are people getting at 25 yards. With a low number or rounds through a new barrel I am getting around 1.5 to 2 inches.

My best load so far has been my home cast Lee452-300, cast pretty hard and drops from the mold at 315, gas checked and pan lubed with Emmert's. This goes on top of a fairly stiff load of H110 (23.6 grns if memory serves I don't have my notes with me) and if I do my part it will stay inside 2 inches at 50 yards off bags. Unless I find something better this will be my load for white tail here in Ohio this fall. With this and other loads I've used a fifty yard zero. I figure with stock sights and my eyes 75 is about my limit.

Just a side note I shoot this same bullet in my Black Hawk but 19 grains of 110 is about my limit for any kind of sustained shooting.

My chronograph is current in operable so I have no idea of MV.

Sierra 240 gr HC, 20 gr IMR 4227, I think it is 1250 fps.
OAL = crimped in the crimping grove of the bullet. (It's near max)
It just makes a small cloverleaf at 25 yards.
Haven't got to check groups at other ranges yet.

Kind of depends what you want to do with it. I'm shooting a 290-grain bullet of my design, packed with Lil'Gun for 1775 FPS. My rifle is a scout with a Weaver K4 Classic Scout scope. I've sighted it in at 100 yards but have killed feral hogs out to 197 yards.

I'm going to try duplicating this load this summer. I would say you probably feel it when it goes off.

Yeah, you could say that! With the accuracy potential of the Rossi, it makes for a great 200 yard deer & hog rifle. Sitting on my project shelf is a 454 Casull butt stock that will be refinished for this rifle.

Some might think, why not just get a 454 Casull? For me it was about forcing more spin out of the bullet to combat the 1:30 twist. For the record, my 454 Casull performs just as well but with 40-grains more bullet weight and 200 FPS more velocity.
