New Rossi owner, looking for your experiance and advice!

Post by oldchippy »

Hi,
Just retired from 30 years of Law Enforcement. Always kept old west guns on the back burner. Now is the Time! :) So, started with a Uberti SAA in 45 Cal. A Henry Big Boy in 357. Just came into a Rossi M92 Trapper in 45 Cal. to go with the SAA. Relocated to Southern Oregon to get away from the ridicules assault on the 2nd. Amendment by the state of California. (Also to be with my Grandchildren)!

Welcome Chippy and congratulations on your retirement, move, grandchildren, and recent firearm acquisitions!!! Experience comes pretty quick with the Rossi rifles as they do require a bit of "hands on" experience, if nothing else, for the initial cleaning.

Thank you,

Happy to be on board and learn some new stuff. I've already taken her down, just to get to know my new Rossi. Ready to order the new follower, eject spring and dive in.

Well being a year past my wanted retirement age but will next June (67 yrs old) I can relate though I have a grand daughter, her husband and 3 kids staying in my home which is small to say the least. As for the gun as RD said clean it as good as you can before shooting it. After that for cowboy action find Steve's Gunz web site and get his tune up DVD at least from his site. I found it great to tune my Rossi 92 in 45 Colt to fire perfectly for 2 seasons of NCOWS shooting.
