R971 Options
Has anyone mounted optic equipment - light, red dot, scope - to a R971? I've searched for high and low for options and the only thing I see are universal inexpensive red lasers that are attached to the barrel or trigger guard. The back strap with the shallow channel for the rear sight doesn't make it very accessible.

Re: R971 Options
How-do Sarge,
Thanks for the reply. Actually, there is not other option but drill and tap with the 971. The 971 doesn't have a rail of any kind. Like I said, the thing with drilling and tapping is the channel beneath the rear sight. Nothing fits - that I've found - because of the channel. I'm wondering if it might be an option to drill and tap through the rear sight into the strap?

Re: R971 Options
Sounds like you have a good plan. Sometimes I think I should've bought the 972 instead of the 971 instead, although I like the 971.
I'm going to check with some local smiths and see if they can drill and tap through the rear sight for me. I've got some tools but nothing to do that precision work.
