Yes, that's what I thought. I was hoping they would have the 45-70 for close to that price, but no luck.

That makes the price very tempting to buy & have JES rebore/rechamber to 35-30!

KY Gun Co still has some RG4570 blems for $415. Never seen them at those prices.

If you do then then I get to live vicariously through your purchase. I've been wanting to do that for a while now. +guns

Around here a nice JM Marlin can be had for $275 at the pawn shop so I'd likely go that route for a donor rifle. A guy on the Castboolits forum just reported taking the deer with the 230gr Ranchdog bullet. He's getting 2000 fps out of a rebored Win 94.

I saw those RB4570 blems, but so far I'm resisting the temptation. :?

A nice JM Marlin 30-30 is $450 here. Don't even ask about other calibers. There is no such thing as a nice gun in a pawn shop here.

There are no JM Marlins sold in shops or pawn shops within a 100 miles of me. All are sold on Gunbroker by those shops in order to maximize the sale price.
