Re: New Henry rifles
I bought my Rossi knowing I would work on it(make it my own so to speak). If I had bought another brand I never would have found this forum and all the helpful knowledge it has to offer. Henry makes a nice product though. Never been a fan of recoil pads.

Re: New Henry rifles
To each his own I guess. I have two of the 22 Henry's and like them. Well made, accurate, fun, and did I mention fun. The centerfires though I am not big on. To me they look, well, off. They are also much heavier than either my Rossi or Winchester 94.

Re: New Henry rifles
I like the feel of the Winchester 92s and 94s pretty well.
Even though it is heavy I like the 86/76 series guns.
The big bore Henry is ok but it doesn't exactly call to me.
The rimfire Henry on the other hand is a got to have it kind of thing.

Re: New Henry rifles
I held on to my R92 for a few years and it never let me down. I was made a GREAT offer on it and caved in. Made $100 profit. I soon missed my .357 carbine and started looking for another. I never liked the heavy Henrys but along came the Big Boy Steel series. Long story short, it is a phenomenal rifle. I have a few .22 tube loaders so it doesn't bother me. I like that the Henry is made just a few hours from the house with 100% American parts. The checkered walnut is oh-so-sweet!

Re: New Henry rifles
No doubt that is a great looking rifle. Wish the 45-70 Govt and 30-30 Win hunting rifles along with the Big Boy Steel rifle had come along a bit earlier. They probably would be here on the ranch.

I can't help but think that if they'd put a loading gate on the guns they'd sell faster.
