Began life as a 22/410 youth. The 410 barrel was stubbed and chambered to 32 Mag. The butt was replaced with an adult one.

Very nice! How about some pictures of the muzzle and breech so that we can see that work. Gon'na retitle this so that topic is a bit more descriptive.

I really like how the combination of the youth barrel/forearm and adult butt stock makes a usable compact rifle!

I will take some more tonight once I get the scope mounted. I know I should go with a fixed 2.5X but I have too many other scopes needing homes

Is it like the smith put a permanent 32 liner in the 410 barrel?

It's not a liner or insert, it's a tedious project that started back in the 1950's. It's best to google instead of listen to me explain it, I'm not very technical. It was not a gunsmith job, machinist do it

Zip, try stub barrel. Apparently it is or was popular with Contenders also along with H&R's.

Nice job. Didn't know that is what some gunsmiths did, but have bought a special 30-30 bbl with special rifling.

My guy used a 303 British barrel it's actually .32 and he makes 32 Mag and 32-20 stubs
