My H&R had good accuracy for open sights. I made the mistake of allowing a friend shoot it, and he talked me out of it. There is nothing like a 405 grain bullet going 1800 Fpm.a guy had a steel pendulum he had been shooting at with 270& 30-06 and not able to really swing the "pie plate"
I popped it with that big bullet and it swung it over the top. It was about 1" thick steel pie plate. He and I were both impressed.
