Re: Rossi Parts Update!
Thank you for your kind words Rooster and I think we are of like mind as far as the parts go.
If a person isn't a connoisseur of the Taurus brand, it would be hard to know of the changes that have taken place since Mr. Kresser has become CEO. Based on my experience with that product line, I will remain positive as I think he and his employees will make this happen and in the process it will mean that better firearms are coming off the assembly line.

Re: Rossi Parts Update!
I called today to order both left and right Cartridge Guides and replacement screws for same (the originals came stripped out from Rossi) and was told they are restricted parts and I need to return my gun to them. They quoted me a $40 shipping fee, an 8 week turnaround time and as long as my gun has not been modified the repair would be covered under warranty.
Since I was about 3/4 of the way through Steves Gunz slick-up I am not interested in send the gun back to Rossi for a few dollars worth of parts. A call to Steve's Gunz on a parts hunt yielded no parts but he did have a simple repair suggestion for me.
I sure wish Rossi gets their act together on this parts issue soon. I'd like to buy another 92 but if parts are impossible I'll head another direction..

Re: Rossi Parts Update!
Thanks, RD, for all your efforts on our behalf. I was one that paid the $40.00 to ship one of my 92's back simple because of a broken ejector. I was told it would take appx 6 weeks to turn it around (standard company line) but upon conversing with the rep a little more, I was told that they weren't real busy at the moment and if I could get it to them in the next couple of days, they'd have it done within 2 weeks. I shipped it, and 6 days later had it back, all fixed at no additional charge. I was pleasantly surprised, and it did help to take some of the sting out of that $40.00 shipping charge, but now that all my 92's are out of warranty period, I'd sure like to be able to just get the parts shipped.
Keep up the good work.

Re: Rossi Parts Update!
I appreciate your comments, thank you. 40 bucks is a tough one to swallow, no doubt about it, Mr. Kresser knows that. They have a real "show stopper" if they cannot cure their inability to send us a part when we need it.Searcher4851 wrote:Thanks, RD, for all your efforts on our behalf. Re: Rossi Parts Update!
If Rossi would make everything but receivers, and maybe barrels, available as replacement parts at "reasonable cost" ... and readily available .... I would be tempted to become a Rossi lever gun addict. With the potential threat of having to send my single R92 back to the mothership for repairs I could most likely do (or at least my gunsmith buddy) is a roadblock in my total enthusiasm. I feel like one of the lucky ones in being able to resolve my "issues" with the feed problems, although I'm just not going to take the fore stock off until I know for sure I can get a replacement screw, and or barrel band if needed.
I know there's at least three more of the Rossi lever guns I want before I'm too old to care, and unfortunately my son has some reservations about buying any gun he can't get parts for......
I really hope I have a reason to make solid plans for the .357 and .45 Rossi carbines in the near future
RD's work on this issue is very much appreciated.

Re: Rossi Parts Update!
I too appreciate RD's efforts. Words are fine but my opinion is based on actions. So I'm still waiting to have my opinion improved.

Love My RG4570S but until Braztech revises their "restricted" parts list, I'll not buy another or recommend the brand to anyone else.

Re: Rossi Parts Update!
I just saw this topic listed over on Leverguns.com. I will try to remain optimistic but I'm afraid it's going to be awhile before this is sorted out. Just speculation on my part but I think the problem is Taurus International isn't interested in supporting any of the pre-buy-out Rossi's. So, they keep a tight control of what part go out.
Hopefully I'm wrong and in time things will improve.
