My concern would be wether or not it would temper it. I guess beens it already broke the metal wasnt tempered correctly thus to brittle. I would try it what can it hurt first thought put the broken part together and trace around it so you can reshape the finished product in the end keep us posted.

mine is fine.....but i saw a post about a 410 that did this and was firing when the lever was closed. it was a thought i had....got me to thinking.

update....my little 410 is working flawlessly right now. Couldn't be happier!

Oh i see no harm i would be leary to trust it after welding it but im not a metal smith

I think that I would try the one from a Marlin. Only $20
Welding "might" work, but it's hard to weld something with such little mass to absorb the extra heat.
I welded on one of my ejectors the other day, and it was really hard to keep from melting it into a puddle. And I had my tig turned down as low as it would go.
