New R92 Carbine--second R92 in three months

Post by silvertip »

Just purchased my second R92 since September. I have posted a few times about my September purchase, a 51001, 24" octagonal barrel in .357 magnum. This rifle was good right out of the box. Fed all .357/.38 cartridges except full wad cutters. After some cleaning, polishing, and proper springs, it is "slick". This most recent purchase is a 56008, 16" round barrel in .357 mag/.38 sp. Pretty common, so I won't post a picture. Like the first, it is a 2013 produced gun and works right out of the box. This one will become my 11 year old grandson's deer rifle. Steve's ejector spring and ss mag follower are on order. Also have a scope base on order from Rossi. Initially the rifle will sport a red dot sight of some configuration. (My grandson is a gamer, and likes sights with reticles since this is what he sees in his video games.) Maybe a scout scope later. Two for two at this time, so I am very pleased with the Braztech Rossi products.

I'm following your lead. Already have a blue (case hardened) 38/357 Octagon Barrel 20" and looking very hard at a SS 16" for my Christmas Stocking.

Yes, good deal. Get the young fellows involved. There is a 10 year old out deer hunting on my place right now, already has five whitetails to his credit.
