.444-.410 brass shot shells

Post by f100cleveland »

Finally got around to fireforming the Marlin .444 brass to fit my rossi matched pair pistol. Took a couple of times firing 1/2 oz loads straight up to get most of case streached out. Started a little light on powder load and worked up. Now I ended up with a couple loads figured out useing 7.5gr Unique, 10gr #5, and 16gr W296. Used an over powder card, winchester red 1/2 oz plastic shot cup, 9/16oz 7 1/2 shot and an over shot card elmer glued in. If I didn't use the over powder card the plastic shot cup had to much blowby and would leave melted plastic in shell and barrel. With some fine tuning and patterning I should be ready by fall pheasant hunting to try some bird shooting over my pointers. +guns
