Howdy and yes I do when up in ILLinois.
Have used the Ideal 401043 with 5.5 grains Unique which seems about the same results in recoil as the near case full of 3F which is the most accurate from my "73" from 1890's . I use the cast bullet as it drops and smear the groove full of 45% olive oil and 55% beeswax. Cast from 40-1 pure lead and tin. Watch your overall length and adhere to the max length. Too long wil not feed and too short will double feed.
Check your groove diameter if shooting smokeless (like Unique) and use a .001 oversize bullet (lead) .
I never shoot jacketed stuff in these old soft steel barrels.

Congrats on your rifle.
Not many around with original 73s.
That gun is worth a fortune if it's in any kinda shape and unmodified.
If it's shoot-able it must be in decent shape.
I see Winchester (Miroku) is making 1873s again.
The pilot run of 73s is in 357 Mag.
The ones I saw on line were snapped up quick probably by the Cowboy Action guys since the 73 is reputed to be very fast and easy to clean because of the removable receiver access plates.
Apparently Winchester held off on the lawyer safety garbage on the new 73s.
Maybe Winchester will make a new 73 in a 38-40 version if the pilot run is well received.
They are very expensive but probably are made of better materials and harder/stronger steel than the originals.
