Hello from Massachusetts
I've been a longtime shooter in CAS, IDPA and others. I'd been looking for a 45/70 lever gun for awhile now. I've got a C Sharps gun in 45/70 but I needed something lighter. Did not want a "Remlin" and could not find a Marlin guide gun at a affordable price. Then I saw listings for the Rio Grande and a few reviews. I dropped a line to my friend Bill English at The Smith Shop to get his opinion. He gave me the rundown on the gun and the follower issue and pointed me here. So Bill ordered me one in SS. Will be in next week.

Re: Hello from Massachusetts
Greetings Duster and welcome to the forum. Mr English should take good care of you, just take a good look at the rifle and don't hesitate to ask any questions.
I liked my RG so much that I sold both my 1895G and MR after I had done a bit of shooting with the RG.
