Powdercoated plain base

Post by IWSBULL »

I was wondering how fast some of you have been able to push them and at what point you needed to go to a gas checked base. I know bullet hardness and other factors play into this but I am looking for a rough guide as I am about to load for the 454C rifle. I have a fairly heavy gc mold and a lighter 275-280 grain plain base. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

16-1700 should be a pretty good break over point for needing a gas check.
