Anyone know where/if the front band is available? (357 round barrel)
Rossi parts has the rear band and not the front, i called and they said it is not available for sale, only as a warranty item? I've checked Jacks First on line parts no luck. Can't find it anywhere. What's with Rossi not making parts available???
Me, this is a new Rossi r92 357.
Immediately disassembled it and am not impressed at all with the lack of precision in manufacture.
For example my lever, where it fits into the breech bolt at the pin location, that surface has been ground to fit obviously on a bench grinder by a blind person. Extremely irregular and ground down way too far so its a real sloppy fit, and with a very coarse grinder. Ya think it would have been milled to fit, not hacked on a bench grinder. I've looked at that part on other utube disassemblies and that surface appears nice and flat. Mine looks like a hack job. Also noticed the fit of the hammer into the lower tang at the pivot point, well there is about a 1/16" gap or free play between the hammer and tang surfaces. Is such a loose fit normal for these? At least mine will not need a break in as the fitment is plenty loose. With this day and age such poor fitment and hack work leaves me totally unimpressed with this firearm.

Re: rossi R92 front band availability
thank you
I have a question, due to the ground down portion of the lever where it fits in the breech bolt, there is at least 1/4 inch side to side play at the lever end when the lever is moved from the at rest position. Is that normal for a Rossi 92? It makes it feel pretty junky. I have a Henry that has zero play at any lever position.

Yes, there is “some” side play. Remember you are comparing two different mechanical systems. One, a Winchester model 1892. The other a Henry model 1873.

Perhaps the "refined tooling" of this part has something to do with the excessive side play

Where was it bought? Do you still have the box? What are the roll marks? I am hoping this was an NOS Braztech rifle.
