I'm not at all sure what a Ranch Hand goes for but if they are sold as a handgun isn't the excise tax higher on handguns than on rifles?

I wouldn't give $78.00 for one.

If i had one, I would pay for the SBR tax stamp and install a full stock with a folding ladder rear sight.
Mount sling swivels also.
44 mag would be the ticket. +guns

For that price I'm pretty sure you could find a NIB Henry.

I don't have to shoot one to know they look like someone took a real gun and cut both ends off in a chop saw. What is their intended usage? Not as accurate as a rifle and not concealable like a pistol.

From your perspective, Mr. Guzzler, I am with you on the "mares leg" models. I personally don't find the utility in them for carrying around. I've had opportunity to try out a friend's Rossi .357 "ranch hand" and it seemed neither fish nor fowl. Wasn't proficient in un-aimed point firing, couldn't find a comfortable way to use sights. He also had a .22 LR mares leg, perhaps a Henry. It was no different for me.

On the other hand, for those who can remember watching Josh Randall (Bounty Hunter) on TV, it is a cool looking re-creation of a movie prop. For anyone wanting to recapture that TV moment, I am very happy that there are still options for those that desire one. I think I read Rossi has discontinued these models, perhaps realizing market saturation, but I don't know that for sure.

I have a full stock on my 44 mag ranch hand.
Great little camp/quad gun, big enough to harvest deer or black bear out to 75 yards

We can't do that here without a spotlight and a big fee.
