Scott McGhees custom 92
Last year I came across this article by Scott McGhee of Guinea Hog forge.
He did a real nice job on the Rossi 92.

Thanks for posting this! I really enjoy seeing someone come up with an idea, & really go for it. What I really wish for is more younger faces behind projects like this. Iām glad you passed this forward.

Hey Oneoff,
It does look nice, doesnt it ?
I have a 24" oct 357 rossi, and have been contemplating having this done.
Been thinking about it for over a year now.
I would probably just go with a barrel cut and crown at 16 1/4", then cut the dovetails.
english walnut looks nice, but may pass on that.

To each his own. I don't like ANY of it except the wood.

I like the gun but the forend looks out of place. A little heavy and long looking.

That's because it has a fluted octagon that's been hacked off.Oldman11 wrote:I like the gun but the forend looks out of place. A little heavy and long looking.

WOW! He did a beautiful job on that. Love the wood and the fluted barrel. I have both the 20" and 24" models in octagon barrels, both are heavy SOBs.
