Hello from Oregon!
Good to meet you all!
I came across this forum during my search for a 1892. I’m an old dog that grew up around guns but have only recently taken them up as a hobby. When I decided to get a rifle last year the 1892 was on my short list of have to have items. In my search I stumbled on a great deal for a Chiappa 1892 20” round barrel in 44-40. It’s a gorgeous rifle and I like the fact that it is in an original caliber but I knew I would eventually get a ‘92 in 357.
It was during my search for one in 357 that I came across this forum. It seems to be pretty good timing as the Rossi 357 in stainless is becoming available again. I asked my local gun shop to be on the lookout for one a few months back and last Friday they told me a new production one is available that could be ordered for $589. So against the collective wisdom expressed in the forum I went ahead and purchased it sight unseen.
Hopefully that will not prove to be a mistake! I like to tinker so I won’t mind some finishing work on my part. I’ll give an update in the 92 section once I get my hands on it.
Take care and thanks for the great information you all post.

Re: Hello from Oregon!
Visited a gun shop yesterday and was able to handle a new SS 357. The cycling was smooth without a gritty feeling. Wood fit was good and9 the barrel was clocked correctly.

Re: Hello from Oregon!
Since I already have a 357 I left it there for the next guy and if you happen to be the next guy and in the Columbus, Ohio area it's at Vance Outdoors on Alum Creek drive in Obetz.Ranch Dog wrote:1Welcome to the forum 73gitane! Good to see that O3W found a rifle as well

The fellow at the counter couldn’t tell me exactly where it was coming from but thought it was the Midwest.
