Christmas Eve Hog

Post by Ranch Dog »

Bunch of family here on the ranch. My step son, David, who is in the Navy wanted to kill a hog so I took him out to a place I thought we could find one, took us an hour and he made a nice shot with my Marlin 1894FG which is chambered in 41 Mag. We had backstraps and tenderloin for Christmas Eve dinner!

41 Mag........used to have a S&W revolver in 41 Mag a few years back..........somewhere between a 357 Mag & 44 Mag in horsepower.
The ballistics of the 41 Mag must be impressive out of a sealed action (vs a vented revolver action) levergun.
Nice sized, healthy looking hog...........congrats :!:

The "FG" is one of my favorites and this rifle will be with me when I croak. It seems to me it is the best balance in killing authority when it comes to boar and deer (black bear?). In the Marlin, extremely accurate.
