Very accurate round in a Ruger 10/22.

Re: CCI 22 Velocitor
Never tried this ammo, but thinking I might have missed a great bullet for 22 rim fire. I'll buy some next I see it. thanks for sharing.

Re: CCI 22 Velocitor
I have most of a large pack of it, in the old labeling, sitting on top of the home defense locker.
I have usually had great results out of CCI ammo but I've had some Stingers that are less than well put together actually leave lead in the barrel of my MKII govt that had to be scrubbed out.

Re: CCI 22 Velocitor
They're awful in my 22/45. It likes MiniMags and Fed Automatch. Never tried them in the 10/22. It shoots EVERYTHING. I have both Stingers and Velocitors. My long barrel Marlin 60 won't cycle either kind, too hot.

GasGuzzler, what happens when you use the Velocitor in the 22/45?GasGuzzler wrote:They're awful in my 22/45. It like MiniMags and Fed Automatch. Never tried them in the 10/22. I shoots EVERYTHING. I have both Stingers and Velocitors. My long barrel Marlin 60 won't cycle either kind, too hot.
I have a 22 pistol that failed to function when the rounds were not hot enough, so I get that.
How does the malfunction occur when the round is too hot?

Re: CCI 22 Velocitor
Mine just scatters them all over the target. It feeds fine. My 22/45 has only the frame, bolt, barrel as original.
The Marlin won't cycle them. The bolt speed is too high so it can't get a new shell raised before the bolt comes back. Also sometimes can't shed the empty fast enough to clear it before the bolt comes back.

Re: CCI 22 Velocitor
Didn't have any problems with them in the MKII Govt, the Henry or the 10/22 Dlx.
Haven't tried them in the other 10/22 or the other couple MKIIs the M17 Smith(s), M41 Smith, Winchester 1895 or the Remington Five.
