Re: Skinner Peep For Wizard or Single Shot
How does it shoot with that peep sight? I am curious as it has been years since I have shot a peep is it easier to use if your eyes are going bad mine are is why I ask I cannot see well at 50 yards these days and am curius if maybe a peep sight will help me reach out and shoot better without wanting to put optics on my 92. This lever action is the first in many years that I have shot with iron sights I am haveing trouble seeing well enough. Just curious don't mean to go off topic it looks nice and has my interest peaked.

I will let you know as I have the same sight on my 92 chambered in 357 Mag, just a different base. I plan on shooting both of them today. Once I'm satisfied it will work, the barrel on this 44 Mag will be sent to the gunsmith to be shortened.

Re: Skinner Peep For Wizard or Single Shot
I bought a brass Skinner peep sight for 1 of my 92s but found a factory load (Federal 454 Casull 260 grain SP) that worked very well with the factory buckhorn sights so it sits on the shelf after months.
I'm sure I'll find a home for it at the rate I buy and sell guns.
I bought 10 boxes of the Federals on sale so I will be keeping the factory iron on the 454 Casull for a while.
I must say that brass Skinner is a really nice looking sight.
$70 for a chunk of machined brass that weighs less than an ounce.
I think I'm in the wrong racket.

Oh well, I guess mine will be sitting on the shelf as well. The high comb of the Wizard's "electric guitar" stock does not allow your eye to use the peep.pricedo wrote:I bought a brass Skinner peep sight for 1 of my 92...it sits on the shelf after months.
