So I ended up using a beer can. I realized quickly that my shimstock was stainless, not aluminum, and even at .010 it's a real b*tch to cut that small. Now I just gotta find time to get to the range and dial in the windage.

I know I'm a little late on posting, but for future reference, anyone, including non beer drinkers can go to an auto parts store and get the old style spark plug feeler gauge and have an unlimited supply of shims. They work great and cheap too.
