powder coating bullets
I know this belongs in the bullet casting section, but we seem to have so few casters that I wanted to put it here so more of yall would see them. They are so precious don't ya think.
It's my first try at doing this so they aren't perfect. I just had to do a few real quick since I got the spraying gun thing last weekend. I thought they weren't too bad for a first try.
I'll load up a few when I get the process sorted out a little better, then I'll give a report about how they worked out. I won't know how to act without a bunch of smoke and soot coming out the gap and barrel, and getting all over my revolvers. They sure do size easy with the coat on them. I can see why they say that they shoot a little faster than regular lubed bullets do.
I put some plain base gas checks on a few just to see if they would stay on. They seem to be as tightly locked on as when put on a regular bullet. Also see the one in the front that I smashed several times with a hammer? That stuff held on like super glue. It cracked only when the lead cracked under it.

Re: powder coating bullets
I hope they are at least as accurate as the traditional way of doing it. I just want to get rid of the smoke and mess associated with the wax lubes. And they are suppose to stop leading completely. Plus they are so pretty!

more results of powder coating
I mixed some yellow with the red hoping for a good orange. Came out more like pumpkin colored. I guess that kinda goes along with the season haha. The colors don't blend like paints do. I'll be chunkin some of these downrange soon. Having such a good time painting that I don't want to shoot them.

Re: powder coating bullets
if i had thought that it would have worked so well, i would have gotten more colors.
Harbor freight only has two more colors though, a flat black and white. I think I'll order more from, powder by the pound, cause they have more colors but at 3 times the cost of HF. I want gloss black and a dark blue and maybe a metallic green............this is ridiculous!
