new member from west Tx

Post by Johnz »

Hello everyone,

Just found this forum yesterday and joined right away because of a new Braztech/Taurus blued .357 M92 I purchased about a week ago & have (& will have) many questions/comments about it.

I live in west Tx & already had 4 Marlin leverguns. 336/30-30, 1895/45-70, 1894/.45 Colt, & 1894/.44 mag.
I have used the .45 Colt in silhouette competition before but not lately. Lately I just use it to punch paper.

Was never interested in the .357 caliber in a levergun & always thought it a waste of money but have come to appreciate it over the years after reading so many neat experiences about them from other owners. Recently, I had the opportunity to get one for a moderately decent price so I jumped in.

Welcome, I have the m92 20" in .357 blued and after slicking her up and adding a new follower I am pleased. Great value if you take your time to get them broken in or tune them and slick them yourself.
Keep us posted.

Yeah, forgot to mention that mine has a 20" barrel also and is stamped as a model "R92" & not M92 like I originally posted (whatever the difference is). Right now I have my rifle all disassembled for the purpose of cleaning the original gritty grease from all the parts & to remove as many metal burrs as I can. I'm waiting on a spring kit from Brownells to arrive before putting it back together. Looking forward to seeing how she works after the cleaning.

A fellow Texan in El Paso, Tuco. Been to Fredericksburg before & thought it was a really nice place.
