Fiber front sight

Post by Tuco Ramirez »

Wanted to add fiber to my front sight. Here is how I did it. I cut a grove across the top and down the front of my Skinner front sight using a diamond wheel on the dremel. Using epoxy I glued it in place. With the grove it is not sitting on top but rather protected within the grove. Will report after I have had a chance to shoot it. Also redoing the fore grip to match the butt stock. That will take me about a week applying tung oil.

What are you using as the material. Looks like weed wacker string?

Extra fiber from one of my bow sights. Most bow sights come with 5 pins anymore. I always strip them down to only 2 pins.

Greetings
It Looks good to me ! If that little chunk does not gather enough light just extend a lomngetr on down the barrel. The Trijion night scopes ues a long fiber down the top of the scope for very low light (moon and stars) illumination of the reticle.

Very pleased with it so far. Glad I did it. You are right to gather more light add to the length. For my purposes I believe it will work real good.
