Howdy from a new member from the San Joaquin valley of CA...Just bought me a Rio grande 45-70 and can't wait to take it out and shoot it!

Welcome Wiskerdoo! What plans do you have for that RG4570? Do you do any hunting?

I have just always wanted a 45-70 so i bought it....but yes i might look into taking it hunting with me. Can I put a rear tang sight on it?

I'm sure there is a tang sight you can put on it from williams. they cover so many platforms.

I put a Lyman #2 on mine. Will need to get tang drilled and tapped 10/32. Buy the one made for a Marlin 336...fits perfectly. Pm for more details if interested . Once again, welcome !
