Open sights and scope base - compatable?

Post by Lezmark »

Because the old eyes have such problems with open sights, I figured i would be stuck with a scope and bought and mounted a plate. I havent put a scope on it, but am seeing a lot of folks with my kind of problem having good success with the Marples rear sight. I like the idea and ability to use either if i wanted. Anyone know if the base would interfere with using a Marples if i installed one?

I dont think it would be a problem. Might have to go with a higher front sight. The Skinner looks good for this. I like a plain blade for a front sight. Bright front sights will tend to shoot toward the sun.

It would be pretty close to obstructing the view I suspect but it would be easy to figure out by just installing it.
