Thank you! I've had my eye on those, just didn't know which ones.

Maybe so. I just bought a bread & butter 3-9 X 40 for a song on clearance. The same model was out of stock most places. There’s no 2020 catalog on the Nikon Sport Optics website.

Yeah, I had a couple Nikon Black illuminated on my wish list but missed out before I heard Nikon might be dropping the scope line and afterward the prices weren't right on them and they were mostly sold out.

I picked up some stopgap Bushnells at what seems to be a decent price but even with a 30 year warranty I'm sort of skiddish of Bushnell.

It's done.

Refinished the furniture, replaced with 3/4 large loop, rear aperture sight, smoothed the action. I'll take a break for now.

So this is the model 92 donated to me. As can be seen from the pictures, its an old gun. Previous owner had it in his safe for 18 years and thats after his brother owned it for an unknown number of years. Chambered in .357 Magnum. As is evident from the pictures its a really old Rossi, and probably a good candidate for a good refurbishment. It seems to have aftermarket sights fitted, but neither me nor the previous owner knows if its factory fitted or aftermarket. Any ideas as to the age Of this rifle would be appreciated.

Very nice! Looks like a Williams rear sight. Front sight looks like a Williams ramp, but I don’t know how you do that on a Rossi.

Never seen a stock or sights like that factory installed on a Rossi. It's an old model that usually has the front sight at part of the barrel band.

It appears the front band has been cut to accommodate the width of the base of the Williams streamlined ramp.
