Brian Pearce's takedown lever action
Brian Pearce's takedown lever action
Several years back, Brian Pearce wrote an article on his takedown lever, Marlin 1894, iirc. It featured a magazine lockout that allowed the mag to be kept loaded when broken down.
I've searched, but unable to come up with the name of the Smith that did his conversion. There are several Smiths doing takedown conversions, but none I could find that did the magazine lock. Does anyone have that info?
Thanks
Tom

I don't think I've seen that one.
All the take down conversion versions i recall require the gun to be unloaded.

Re: Brian Pearce's takedown lever action
I found forum references from another board (PKLGs) regarding DRC Armaments - David R. Clay as a gunsmith without a web presence who apparently did such takedown and caliber conversions and the same thread mentions "Brian Pearce's takedown Marlin 44".
No pictures of the firearms in question.
Interestingly enough there is a partial quote on the thread from COSteve who apparently a year or three back more or less scrubbed all the posts he had made on whatever gun boards he was on and disappeared. I recall a year or so back looking for one of his posts here to point something out for somebody asking a question and finding them all deleted.

IDK, I went looking for his Marble's tang sight posts and found them disappeared along with everything else he posted across multiple boards.
I think I had found some reloading posts from him ages ago long before I joined this site that included some pictures of some of his setups but it seems everything has been scrubbed.

Re: Brian Pearce's takedown lever action
I know others who have done so out of concern over watching eyes.
