92 cheek riser option

I bought my first Rossi late last year, a new R92 357/38spl, and mounted a Sig Romeo 1 on a skinner one-slot picatinny rail, obviously very high over the bore-line. I found Ranch Dog's earlier advice on getting a Rossi single shot cheek riser from Rossi, followed all his advice, but Rossi turned me down. Said it was no longer in production and they didn't have any. Happily I found that ATI, where I've purchased good products in the past, carries a universal cheek riser and it worked great for me. Mounting the rifle with eyes closed puts me right on the dot (natural point of aim) with a very comfortable cheek weld. Installation was quick and easy (the only benefit I can think of for the flat-top comb on the R92?). There is a gap between the flat top of the rifle comb and the curved underside of the universal cheek riser, but the edges of the riser make solid contact and it feels solid overall. I may go back and work in a closed-cell foam spacer, or maybe pour something to fill, haven't decided yet. Partly because I haven't had time to shoot it anyway! Just wanted to pass on some good news to others with the same problem, with most any low comb. Not a bad option for $12.

Looks good! I have a similar arrangement on a scoped Winchester 255. For most of my rifles, I like having optics and irons. I have a Bradley B 24 non-adjustable strap-on riser that works well. Pricy, but I swap it around on several rifles, including the Rossi.

that flat top and square sided stock looks painful to shoot.
whomever designed it, should be made to rack off a couple hundred rounds of 454 Casull out of a 5lb carbine with it.
I bet they draw a new one up real quick

I can't for the life of me figure out why they did that. Makes no sense at all.

I always figured they did this to make it simpler to make the butt plate.
