.454 Casull

Post by Blue »

I see that .454 Casull R92 are only 8% of forum owners.

Were they made in barrel lengths other than 16"? Were they available with blued finish?

I have a 16" SS in .454 Casull and wouldn't sell it, but am curious about it's value...anyone have a clue?

They are uncommon. Value is regional. Checked COMPLETED ITEMS (only) on GunBroker to check value.

I would say that 20" barrels were the common model. Mine is the "Scout" version.

I sent my lever to Mule Skinner to expand to a "Hunter" style as the recoil was cracking my fingers hard.

Too steep for me when I can get a .45-70 or .444 for a lot less not to mention the ammo for either probably isn't any more expensive than .454 and might even be less. Ditto on .44 Mag.

I sort of like the idea of .454 but I can get any two of the above rifles for that $1700 you mention and likely have money left over for ammo or reloading components. I expect I'd probably have at least 100 rounds for each more if it was .44 Mag.
