ROSSI SS 92 model in 45 LC

Post by cpt-t »

I Bought a ROSSI SS 20 inch Barreled 92 Model in 45LC 25+ years ago. And I was hoping someone could give me some info on it. It says 45 COLT on the barrel to the left rear of the front sight. On the top of the tang behind the hammer it says AMADEO ROSSI S.A.-MADE IN BRAZIL. on the bottom of the tang behind the trigger and under the lever it says
MODEL 92 SRC
INTERARMS
ALEXANDRIA. VIRGINIA
In front of the trigger guard and lever on the receiver it says ((( RR 0912 OF 2000 ))). Which I guess could be the serial number but I don`t know. That is the only writing on my Rifle. Can anyone tell me, what the RR 0912 OF 2000 means. Do I have a limited edition or centennial rifle. Or maybe something special. Like I said I have had my Old Rossi a long time and I have always wondered. I have shot my rifle 1000`s of times with never any type of problems and the action is very smooth. And it is very accurate. Thanks in advance for any help You may be able to provide for me.

Post a picture so we can see what makes it different from a standard original Rossi. That's not the serial number.

Here's my conjecture: AMADEO ROSSI S.A.-MADE IN BRAZIL is the manufacturer, MODEL 92 SRC is the model name, INTERARMS ALEXANDRIA. VIRGINIA is the U.S. importer, and ((( RR 0912 OF 2000 ))) means your rifle is the 912th rifle made out of a planned run 2000 rifles. I sure hopes in some way!
Take care,
Bob

Yeah except without a pic we don't know how or why there was a run of 2000 of his rifle. The "regular" R92 surely was not a special edition and therefore was not one of XXXX number made like this one.

The Big Boy Steel is a really nice rifle, mine is a 44 Mag and I really like it.

Stay well, be safe, make smoke,
Curt... makin' smoke and raising my carbon foot print one cartridge at a time Image
