Canadian import Amadeo-Rossi Puma

Post by one6onerepeat »

Hi everyone, first up let me say Thank You for having me here on the forum.
I’m from Alberta Canada. I recently traded a rifle for a Rossi lever action. It is marked Amadeo-Rossi on the barrel and also marked Ruko of Canada on the right side of the receiver. It is in 44 magnum calibre.
Has the puma face on the left side of the receiver. Has no safety and also the front sight post is integral with the barrel band.
Serial number is M00536x
Would anyone happen to know a ball park year this would have been manufactured ?
The serial number comes up a donut on all searches I’ve tried.

Welcome.
Serial numbers are fairly sketchy on all the Amadeo Rossi originals as far as dating goes.

I bought one new in Alberta in the late 1980's. Same model but in .38/.357.

I have one like yours. M0078XX. I was told by someone that it is from the mid to late '80s. I don't remember who gave me the info.

Hello! Your rifle is an old Amadeo Rossi, I think your rifle was made early in the 90s when Rossi was a sole company, that is a good acquisition and a true classic, really hard to find nowadays
