If his 454 goes for that, my 480 ought to be worth five times that!

I sold my Rossi .480 for $1700.00 on Gun Broker. Now I wish I had still had it.

For that kind of money, I'd be talking to the guys at Big Horn Armory and purchase one of their gems in 454.

The 'seller' has been smoking too much stuff. He's dreaming at that price. Asking and getting are two different things so I doubt that anyone is stupid enough to pay that much for one. (Yes, I know there's one born every minute but that still doesn't make it worth anywhere near that much.) I could post a used Yugo for $100,000 but so what, no one in their right mind would pay that much for it.

Some years back when the Rossi 454 and 480 were getting harder to find, there were folks that said similar things about sellers asking $600+ for their 454/480 carbines. "Too high, crazy, stupid, dreaming..." I guess life looks different depending on whether a person is chasing something or has already caught it. If a few years down the road sellers are asking $5,000+ for the same rifle, will we lament not having picked it up at the low price of $2500?

yeah, but when a basic lever gun hits $5000, your monthly electric bill may be $1500 (or more).

Seems like everything changes now, except for my income ...
