butt stock

Post by Santa01 »

Gentlemen, I have a Rossi 92 carbine that I would like to change! I LOVE the butt stock on my Winchester '94. It has a cresent buttstock like the Rossi but, it has the pistol grip! Has anyone here replaced their Rossi stock with one from a '94 Winchester. OR have somewhere else I may enquire? Thanks.

Have you considered, that you also need to modify your lever, when you change, to a Pistol Grip Stock?

Here are some Gunbrooker parts that might be compatible:

Buttstock for Browning 53: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/788429973
Lever from Browning 53: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/788429971

Some say that the Browning 53 is a modified 1892.

Ha, mystery wood already done. I just love the way my Winnie 94 feels. It has a crescent buttstock with a pistol grip. Comes up perfectly. That is what I am wanting to reproduce.
golfish, thanks for the confidence!

There is a guy on ncgunowners.com forum his handle is Sharps40, he has done this to a straight grip Marlin and not buying any new parts to do it, it is a good article. I have some Win 94 stocks and they are not a good fit to the Rossi 92, I think you would have to modify the stock quite a bit. Numerich gun parts has 94 buttstocks that are "scratch and dented" for 26.00 if you want to try(straight grip). Best regards, Steve
