Replacing the Lever on R92: Any advice? - It is now done
I have the Rossi Model 65 MI (1892, Stainless, 20" Round barell, No Safety)
It is born with a normal Lever, and I have finally found a Large Loop Lever, that I can get to Greenland, at a decent price. (Aprox US$ 220 including shipping)
It is the original Rossi Spare part.
Is there anything I should be aware of, when switching levers?
So far, I have never taken my '92 apart.
But I have fooled around with mechanics and firearms, for 25-30 years, and I don't expect it, to be a large problem.

I don't know if it is the same as the 92, but changing the lever in a 92 would be one of the easiest things you could do. There are videos on YouTube to show you how to take the rifle down and put it back together.
I bought the Steve's Guns DVD, but this video on YouTube is also pretty good for showing how to take it down...

A good movie, that makes disassembly a lot easier.

Re: Replacing the Lever on R92: Any advice?
Thanks to the video, and some other instructions, from the Net, I had no Major problems.

I did fight, with the Ejector, but a tip about using a piece of Gaffa Tape, helped a lot
I now have the large loop on, and am just waiting for another coat or 2 of oil on the stock.
Ready to change the lever
Lever has been replaced.

I Never doubted, that I could do it... Only wondered how long, it would take.
It took around 3 hours, including findig the instructions.
And it was a drop in fit.
Next time, I bet, that I can do it, in less than half that time.
Luckily, I could get the part, cheap, from the German Rossi Importer, via a friend, in Denmark.
Unfortunately, they don't ship outside the EU.

The restrictions on gun parts and where they can be delivered is ridiculous

I suspect that it has been a good number of years since a 92 has been used in an illegal act, or gun related act of violence. From a home defense perspective, a 92 would be strong deterrent. Enjoy that large loop lever.

Great work, I look forward to the finished pics once your stock is finished up.

Here it is, with the stock on
It is somewhat more "Clunky" with the new lever. It was much smoother, with the original lever.. I Wonder if I have mounted something incorrectly.
